The achievement of an organisation's objectives through the improvement, management and control of essential business processes

Presentation
The presentation will be focussed on obtaining significant and sustainable benefits from Business Process Management, beyond just incidental improvement. It is on basis of extensive research and successful implementations. The presentation will draw upon various international case-studies.

The case-studies includes various organisations that achieved 50% cost reduction and other companies that achieved cost reduction and higher customer satisfaction.

Business Process Management has been focused, for too long, on just aspects of technology, improvement methodologies or modeling techniques. It is time to spend more time on business strategy execution, especially from a process-focused viewpoint.

In my presentation I will provide practical guidelines to successfully implement BPM initiatives, identify common pitfalls that frustrate most BPM projects. Key characteristics of high performance organisations will be specified including their link to process management.

Furthermore, the presentation will provide a pragmatic roadmap to sustainable BPM by align strategy, project- and process execution in order to become a high performance organisation. As BPM is not a goal itself, but a means to improve organizational performance and achieve strategic objectives. However, a framework alone will not achieve the desired results without inspirational leadership.

Key Takeaways
  • WHY business process management is critical in achieving the objectives of the organization
  • HOW have other companies been successful
  • WHAT specific action you can take to achieve results with BPM
The Biggest Issue in BPM today
Business Process Management needs to be part of management as usual.

You can't improve what you don't manage.

Too often people see BPM just limited to technology, marginal process improvement, another phase of process re-engineering or another three letter word to make money!! BPM is a management philosophy.
