View on BPM
BPM is about determining what processes a business must excel in and then ensuring it does so... consistently.

Presentation
In little over 15 years RAMS Home Loans grew from start up to a market capitalisation of $880m, and played a leading role in the transformation of the Australian mortgage lending industry.

Drawing on his experience assisting and advising RAMS since 2000, Andy will outline RAMS' history and how RAMS transformed its own business model and the performance of its processes to enable its growth prior to listing in 2007. He will describe some of the techniques used by RAMS, and others of his firm's clients, to align its business processes with its business strategy, including to determine the business / market in which to operate; how to protect market share; the appropriate business model to adopt; the business processes in which to excel; the business processes to outsource to others; and how to design, perform, monitor and change business processes (to remain better than the competition).

Key Takeaways
  • Processes provide the link between business strategy and business performance.
  • There are a variety of tools & techniques to help businesses prioritise their investments in process performance, some of which have been around for decades.
  • There is no "right" tool, and no tool will work without creativity in thought and discipline in implementation.
The Biggest Issue in BPM today
BPM technologies should help businessmen regain control of the operation of their businesses. CIOs and IT Managers must not be permitted to claim that BPM is about technology subject to their control!
