Achieving Process Maturity at NAB
Peter McDonald (National Australia Bank) Head of Quality, Australian Region
Profile Peter is the Head of Quality for the National Australia Bank.
Previous to this he was Group Manager Process Improvement at WMC Resources where he implemented management systems and operational excellence methods including six sigma across all parts of the business resulting in over $50m in benefits.
Peter is a process engineer spent most of his life as an Operations Manager as a line manager including a long stint in the Petrochemical Sector where he was Head of Operations for a $500m plant in Sydney with ICI.
His qualifications, knowledge and application of operational and process excellence methods is extensive and includes:
Juran, Deming, Crosby, Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, Experimentation and Design, Problem Solving, ISO Quality Assurance, Management Systems , Business and Operational Excellence Frameworks, Lean tools.
Peter holds a B.Sc (Chemistry) and B.E. Hons (Chem Engineering) from the University of Sydney and M.Comm (Organisational Behaviour and Finance) from University of N.S.W.
His role is to facilitate a sustainable approach to best practices in both Operations Management and Continuous Improvement.
