| BA World - CANBERRA | OCT 21-22 |
September 7th 2009 |
Business Analyst World | CANBERRA | Monday 21st to Tuesday 22nd September 2009
Business Analyst World Venue: HOTEL REALM - 18 National Circuit BARTON
Business Analysts play an important role in the improvement of business processes and business capabilities. Responding with point solutions to lag issues, however, will not ensure sustained business performance. The ability of a BA to take a broader business context in solving specific business requirements will ensure the proposed solutions are both the right ones and ones that will be relevant to the business beyond the next re-organisation.
Business Process Management (BPM) is enjoying unprecedented popularity across the globe. This presentation will emphasize the relevance of BPM for BA's through models and practice examples. By understanding the context and value of the BA project, BA's will be able to provide greater value to the business. This presentation will challenge the role of the BA as being that of a true 'change agent' rather than merely a participant in the development of a project. Through an enterprise-wide process-orientation, BA's have a key role in challenging the business to think beyond their current-state functional problems toward future-state process solutions.
Learning Objectives:- Understand why BPM is important for sustaining process improvements
- Explain the differences between functional and process perspectives
- Ensure your role as a BA assists in bridging the Business-IT divide and challenges the business to think beyond 'function
I will be presenting on Tuesday 22nd October 2009 @ 11:15am
